Top 10 Greatest Movie Dads.
Happy Fathers Day! It’s the day to celebrate Dad and what better way to do it this year than to countdown the top 10 greatest movie Dads? Cinema has given us so many memorable and beloved movie poppas that made an impact on us whether it’s through pure laughs of recognizability or through pure admiration and wish fulfillment, but for this article I’m gonna have to stick with what I consider the top ten most memorable and legendary cinema dads of all.
10. Cleo McDowell. Coming To America.
John Amos was known as one of tv’s greatest and most beloved dads on television in the 1970’s as James Evans Sr. on Good Times. He then proceeded to create another great and memorable dad in 1988's iconic Coming To America as Cleo McDowell, owner of the fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s…. Er….I mean “McDowell’s”. He had two daughters, but his favorite was his baby girl Lisa who he was desperate to get married to a wealthy man who can give her the life he and his late wife dreamed of for her. Cleo was somewhat self serving and a goofball, but would do anything for his girls, even tell off a powerful king James Evans style to defend them.
