He’s back and deadlier than ever! Robert McCall, brought to life perfectly by Denzel Washington, came back after a few years underground and boy was it worth the wait. As a big fan of the original 1980s tv series starring Edward Woodward and the first two Denzel movies, expectations were high going in. When I came out I thought to myself “Yeah, it was worth the wait.” Now’s time for my non spoiler review of this incredibly gripping and yet, oddly beautiful and peaceful film.

Summary:

Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall finds solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Now living in Southern Italy, he soon discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall becomes their protector by taking on the mafia.

What I absolutely loved:

The Action\Kills:

When one goes to see an Equalizer film there’s high expectations in the brutal kill scenes where McCall mutilates the scumbags in gloriously brutal and over the top ways. This movie delivered even more than the first two did on that front. Two scenes in particular were just spectacular in satisfying violent brutality. In this one McCall was NOT the one to play with.
