My Top 5 Favorite Jamie Foxx Movies.

Jamie Foxx is another one of my all time favorite actors as well as just an amazing musician, singer, an Oscar winner and just an all around nice, cool guy. Just like Denzel and Eddie Murphy, now’s the time to jump into my top 5 favorite Jamie Foxx movies. Jamie has a great range and versatility that we’ve seen from him in various films he’s done and that’s what makes this a fun list to dig into.
5. Bait. 2000.

A very underrated but enjoyable thriller\comedy\action movie where Jamie’s raw comic skills and action hero swag were put together for the first time. While the film didn’t do great at the time and is a blip on the radar now, I find it to be a really good film for Foxx as well as a great cast including David Morse, Kimberly Elise, David Paymer and Mike Epps.
4. Breakin’ All The Rules. 2004.

One of my all time favorite romantic comedies and the chemistry between Jamie and Gabrielle was a huge reason why, another reason is a phenomenal cast that includes Morris Chestnut, Bianca Lawson, Jennifer Esposito and Peter MacNichol. Jamie got to show off his romantic smooth side in this film and it’s a surprise that it’s to date the only romantic comedy he’s made. The genre suits him well.
3. Collateral. 2004.

A truly masterful action\drama\suspense film that earned Foxx and Cruise respective Oscar noms. This was a tour de force for Jamie as he got to play just a regular cab driver caught up in a insane situation with a psychotic hitman. Another amazing cast that Jamie was apart of including Jada Pinkett Smith, Bruce McGill and Mark Ruffalo.
2. Law Abiding Citizen. 2009.

A truly underrated classic in my opinion. One of the all time great thriller films and everything about it is pure magic. The casting of Foxx and Gerard Butler among the other stellar cast including Bruce McGill, Regina Hall and Viola Davis as well as an intelligent story and powerful scenes and dialogue. Jamie Foxx in particular was excellent as Nick Rice, a overly ambitious and self righteous ADA whose big mistake costs him and the rest of New York a whole lot. It was definitely a departure from everything else we’ve seen Jamie do at that point and in my opinion no one could’ve done it better.
- Ray. 2004.

This has to be number 1 on most Jamie Foxx fan’s lists if not easily in the top 3. Foxx’s iconic performance earned him his first Oscar and took the world by storm. Before the film came out many doubted if comedian Jamie Foxx could pull off playing the legend that is Ray Charles but Jamie proved that he was the exact man for the job. Ray is one of the all time greatest bio pics ever made and Jamie’s performance was spellbinding. An Oscar well earned. The cast also includes Kerry Washington, Terrence Howard, Clifton Powell, Larenz Tate Aunjanue Ellis and Regina King.
Happy 2022, Folks!
