When I looked back at part 1 of my best fictional police officers of all time article from a while back, I decided that there were quite a few more great tv cops that deserved to get some attention and applause. So here’s ten more of the best tv cops who always got the job done and did it with style and intrepid skill.

Cagney and Lacey were television’s first female cop duo on primetime television and their partnership is still being imitated by quite a few cop shows with female lead detectives to this day. They were as different as night and day but two things both had in common were their commitment to their job and their intrepid skills at doing that job.
